Charlie: Adrian in Santa Fe, could be a neighbor… What are your thoughts on these SharkBite fittings on plumbing repairs? I have a small leak in a copper T, and a copper to PVC transition in the attic.
Tom: You know, when they first came out, I would get all these calls, “Have you heard of SharkBite? Have you seen SharkBite? Is SharkBite works?” “I don’t know, it’s brand new.” That was years ago.
Charlie: Right.
Tom: I’ve never had anybody call when we talked about this a few minutes ago with anything bad like, “Oh, my SharkBite failed. It didn’t work.” It didn’t fail, so I’m going to assume it’s fine. I haven’t heard any failure on those particular fittings.
Charlie: It’s just that you don’t … It changes out how you joint them together or something?
Tom: Yeah, somebody came up with a clever way to joint pipe together without having to go through this big hassle. It just simplified it. I’ve heard nothing bad about the particular fitting, and that’s why they sell them all over, and I know they’ve sold probably millions.
