My “contractor” says that we have to wait 2-3 months before we can use pressure treated lumber for the gazebo so the chemicals can dry out. I have already paid him for the supplies. 2-3 months. Doesn’t matter if we paint or stain. I am worried that he will be gone by then.
Could this wait be true? I have never heard of this. He said Home Depot told him this. Thank you.

Tom: I can’t believe this. They’re paying for this supply. Something that I didn’t hear was the supplies were delivered and sitting in her back yard. If they are not…
Charlie: No, she says she’s already paid for the supplies. It doesn’t necessarily say…
Tom: That’s what I mean.
Charlie: they were delivered.
Tom: That’s what I mean. That’s what I heard at this time. I thought hmm wait a minute. Don’t ever do that. If you, first off less pressure for you, do not let them wait for three months. You get it off the yard and you put it on. Its kiln dried lumber it will be fine. This whole thing about drying from chemicals, that was from 1942 and I don’t think your deck builder’s that old.
Secondly, if you pay for materials pay for them when they’re delivered to your house and make sure they stay on the property. Because who knows if those materials were paid for. And I’d probably with pretty good confidence say he just walked away with some cash flow that day and your materials have not been bought or paid for at this time. Don’t do that for all the other listeners and if you can chase him down and find out what happened to that money I would.
