Everything’s infilled, everything’s power brimmed. The guys are just working on cleaning up.
Hey guys. Jeremy with SYNLawn Houston here. We’re here in the Heights of Houston today. Working on a little 200 square foot area for a customer of ours. Has a couple of dogs that previously were not able to really use this space, but when the turf is in and done, they’ll be able to come out here at their leisure and not track back anything back into the house.
A couple of things that we’re doing, a couple of things that we’ve done already, we’re not quite done yet, but we’re here, we’ve come in, there was previously grass and dirt here. We’ve excavated two to three inches of grass and dirt, potentially four in some spots. We’ve added our bender board edge. We’ve got our crust aggregate, our granite base in.
You got three to four inches of an aggregate here, which is extremely important to make sure that there’s a lot of stability underneath your turf so that your turf lasts for as long as you want it to, as long as we want it to. You got your bender board edging around the edge to hold everything in place. The bender board edging holds not only the base material in place, but it’s also something we attach our turf to make sure that your system, your turf system, lasts as long as it should.
So now we’ve run our compactor over our aggregate a couple of times, and the guys are just now fine-tuning the base so that at the edges, specifically at the edges, you don’t get this lip or this difference in level from the granite base to the bender board. So they’re going to make sure that this is nice and level and compacted so that when we lay the turf, the turf will be right up against this rock and there won’t be any lip to show. So you get a good seamless surface all the way to the edge.
We’ve got our turf rolled out now. They’ve rolled it out, they’ve cut it, trimmed it into the shape of the backyard. They’ve seamed it where it needed to be seamed. We’ve attached it the edge into our bender board as we talked about. You’ve got a good seamless transition here from the turf into the adjacent areas. Good-looking clean cut up against the rocks.
Everything’s infilled, everything’s power brimmed. The guys are just working on cleaning up. The customer’s got a usable space, albeit a small space, but it’s a usable space that he doesn’t have to worry about anymore. It’s something he can walk out here and enjoy. His dogs can come out and enjoy it at any given time. This is a finished product and this guy’s going to be happy.
