I purchased a older home and one of the things I didn’t think about was the drain in the back porch.
In the center of the back porch there is a drain, maybe 3 or 4 inch pipe that goes out into the street. I never noticed it last year because it didn’t rain. Well the past few weeks with all the rain, this drain will get clogged with pine needles/leaves and cause the water to pool up. I noticed that if it’s not addressed the water will get high enough that it will hit the house. What are some options I could do to fix this?
I do have gutters and the downspout is on the back porch. I plan to put gutters on the garage and tie it in with the house gutters. I’m afraid that I’ll just add more water to the back porch and cause more problems to the drain.
