I have a house exterior insulated metal door that has a gap on the doorknob side, opposite the hinge side. The gap is wider at bottom than at the top. I can see light through the gap and I am hoping that I can have the door adjusted to close the gap.
I live in Sugar Land. Who could I trust to look at the door for potential adjustment?
Mike
Tom: It might be true. Doors are moving objects. We talk a lot about one of our sponsors, the Overhead Door Company of Houston on Main Street. They have to deal with the big ones, and those things get all out of whack, too.
Charlie: The largest moving object on your house.
Tom: Besides your spouse.
Charlie: Oh, no…
Tom: I’m only kidding! But the door itself is moving and they need to be adjusted, and they can, and they need to be re-weather stripped when you have gaps in them, and there are companies out there that do exactly that. They’re weather-stripping companies. Get one. There will probably be a little bit of a re-adjustment, re-weather stripping the whole thing if you need to, and a lot of old doors do, and boom, your door is fitting nice and tight and pretty again. It’s not a big deal or an expensive proposition.
