Hi, I’m Robert Scarpati with Guardian Windows and today I’m going to explain the differences between a lot of these home windows that are currently in your home, builder grade windows versus an upgraded, energy efficient, sturdy vinyl window that we can put in your home. And just looking here, this is the window, the aluminum window that was double pane that we took out of this homeowner’s home. And the big difference is, one, this is aluminum framing here. And if you know anything about aluminum, it’s a conductor. So it’s going to conduct heat and cold. So when it’s conducting, that is going to produce a lot of heat and cold into your walls, into your home. So that’s going to really affect the efficiency of the energy in your home. Your AC is going to have to go up or down whether you want to heat it or cool it because this aluminum is going to be a lot of insulating factors and that’s not very good. It’s negative.
Then on this glass here, this is double pane glass and double pane is much better than single pane. Some of your homes have single pane glass, but it’s just this basic Low-E argon glass. And it’s older, much older than what we have now. And it’s not doing much, especially when you attach it to an aluminum framing. So we need something that’s going to be a lot more efficient. Then you can look here at the locks. These locks are barely even really doing anything. I mean, that’s what’s keeping anyone outside of your home from getting in.
Not great.
So we really want an upgrade. We want your home to be more secure and efficient. So this would be our answer. We call this our ultimate Guardian window. This is made in Texas for Texas and it’s Texas windstorm approved. That’s a big deal because we want some structural stability in your home. You can see a lot thicker of a window than versus these windows here that, I mean, it’s not very thick and not very secure. There’s not a lot of structural support to the window. And first thing, this vinyl frame, it’s not going to be a conductor. It’s not going to conduct all the bad heat or cold into your home because in Texas it gets really hot, but then when it gets cold, it’s not pleasant for anyone. And us Texans don’t like the cold. So that’s a big first step.
Then you look at this glass, this is triple coated argon glass and it’s 366 heat glass. That’s going to reflect off and you can see the difference in the glass here where this is just your basic Low-E glass. Some of y’all don’t even have that. You just have glass that there’s nothing on it. So if I put a heat lamp or you put the sun on it, you’re going to feel the heat come right through it. You’re not going to feel it with this glass here. And you can see there’s a little bit of a bluish tent and it has that nice reflective quality. So when the sun hits it or the cold hits it, that’s going to reflect right off. So that’s a big one as well.
Talked about the locks. If we open this lock, this is going to be a cam lock and also these flip out. That wraps around through the interlocking system there. It’s drilled horizontally and then vertically into here. So that’s going to be a lot more secure and a lot more insulating in these homes where that seals a lot tighter than the basic vinyl window. Also, these old aluminum windows, they have trouble just opening and closing. So there’s a lot of dirt and dust going into your home. So we want to solve that issue where this is a force balance track here. That’s going to go up or down with one finger. Very simple to open or close the window and then seal the window off from dust and dirt getting into your home.
And then lastly, one of the big things too, where it’s not these big chunky vinyl windows. You get some of these vinyl windows and you can tell that someone went a little cheaper to save a few dollars, but then it’s not very attractive. We’re at two and a quarter versus these big ones that are like three and a quarter, and you’re living in a submarine all of a sudden.
That’s no good. So we want these windows to look as attractive as possible and as good as possible. And we want your home to get a big upgrade in the comfort of your home and to protect your home from UV rays, dust, dirt. All the things we want to keep outside, we can keep them outside and not into your home. So give us a call, 281-955-8994. We’d love to take a look at your home and improve your quality of living.
