A Steel Building Dream Come True

A steel building can take on many shapes and sizes. But, can one be big enough to hold twin sisters and two families—12 in all? Our HomeShow Pros at Mueller Steel Buildings say, yes. Of course.

Steel Building Barndominium

Any way you look at this project, it’s impressive. This one took 51,000 pounds, of prefabricated, bolt-together red iron steel, coved in 26-gauge sheet metal. It’s a classic case of how a Mueller steel building gives you choices.

The 12 Armadillos Ranch started out as a dream.  A place where the twin sisters could spend time together with family. Christa and Corinne planned the whole thing.

“There’s 12 of us,” Corinne says. “I have three children, Christa has five.”

That’s how the 12 Armadillos Ranch was born; plenty of space makes for a happy family.

Steel Building Planning

“It does not feel like a shed,” Christa points out. “it does not feel like a metal building.”

That’s because steel buildings give you a big open space with limitless options; wider spans and design flexibility to create almost anything.

“Everything from garages, storage sheds, up to manufacturing centers,” says Jeremy Seay of Mueller Steel Buildings. “We make everything ourselves.”

“There’s a lot of parts and a lot of moving pieces,” Jeremy adds. “It requires a lot of people to make that building happen.”

In fact, Every part of 12 Armadillos Ranch’s steel building was made specifically for that building here on the Gulf Coast.

Mueller Steel Buildings use 26 gauge steel – 33% thicker than the industry standard. That makes Mueller’s panels stronger and less susceptible to the waviness (called “oil canning”) you’ll see in some metal roofs. Add in Mueller’s  top-of-the-line paint systems, using the latest technology for better energy efficiency and color retention, and you have a quality look that lasts.

One dream. One Stop.

“This is a one of kind place,” Christa says with a smile. Corrine adds, “We had ideas of what we wanted it to look like but we never dreamed it would be this good.”

What started as a dream is now the 12 Armadillos Ranch thanks to a Mueller Steel Building.
