Is there anything specific to know about taking the intercom system out of a house?

Charlie: Steven Tomball says, “I want to take the intercom system out of our house. Is there anything we need to do? I was planning on disconnecting the base unit, terminating the wires with wire caps, and also terminating the speaker wires with caps and sheet rocking over the openings.”
Sounds pretty thorough to me. Anything more you’d do?

Podcast: Play in new window

Tom: Yeah, you don’t really need to cap it all. It’s all low voltage and once you get … the main unit has the power to it. Once that main unit is disconnected, there’s no more power in the walls or in those wires at all. So you can just pretty much just cut and get rid of it, is about all you have to.
