Exterior Paints

I heard you tell a caller that , for exterior paint, you prefer the professional paint produced by a branch of Sherwin Williams. I was driving and couldn’t write down the paint kind/name.You also said there is one sherwin W. paint that you’d consider using. Please give the the names of these two exterior paints.

Podcast: Play in new window

Tom: As far as the paint I’ve used the most, and have been very happy with, it has been Manor Hall. Over the years, several brands I’ve used I’ve had a lot of luck with; most of ’em are more commercial than they are residential, because companies companies market to both, but Pittsburgh Manor Hall was one, Pratt and Lambert Accolade was always a good one, too. We even had some of the upper line Benjamin Moores we’ve used with great success also.
Charlie: Okay, so there are some choices for you.
Tom: Oh, absolutely.
Charlie: Look, and the bottom line is this: If they sell it cheap on aisle nine, it’s not going to last.
Tom: Yeah, and if you call Rudy, you know even Rudy’ll say, “We want to upgrade with better paint.” There are painters out there that understand there is a difference.
