Know when to use your power to choose
Buy when the market is down. Lock in through the high times. That means changing electric plans during summer’s high demand months is not wise. But, changing between seasons does. March and April, September and October are typically lower demand months. Prices follow demand. Making a plan change at this time will probably get you a better deal.
But, what if you’re due for a change during a peak month? Choose a short-term plan that will get you to a lower-demand time. For instance, if you’re due to renew in August, get three-month plan that gets you to October. Then, choose a better long-term solution.
