Charlie:
Darryl in Crosby, we’re moving into a 2000 square foot metal building. There’s no insulation. We’re going to put A/C in it. So what would you use as a radiant barrier, a stick-on, or foam, or something like 4 inches thick on the walls, 5 on the ceiling? How’s that sound to you?
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom::
Radiant barrier?
Charlie:
I don’t think it’s radiant barrier
Tom:
I think he’s talking about insulation [crosstalk 00:00:20]
Charlie:
I think so, too-
Tom:
Think about this. If you had a metal building and you had no insulation on it and you air conditioned it, you would be like the inside of the outside of the beer can. You have this cold metal that you’re just getting nice and cold
Charlie
Burr, cold-
Tom:
…. and you’re in the covers and all of a sudden, drip, drip, drip on your head. You can’t get metal cold. It will start to rain on you. That’s why we insulate air conditioning metal ducts and other things. So…putting foam, or they have a vinyl-backed insulation that goes against metal on metal buildings, but you have to insulate the metal or it will sweat on you.
