Tom:
No.
Charlie:
You can use an Ice and Water Shield instead of-
Tom:
You can use it anywhere you want instead of tar paper. It’s a great product.
Charlie:
What is it? I mean, what’s the difference?
Tom:
It’s more expensive. It’s a rubberized material that sticks to, in most cases, it would be roof decking, and then you put your roof on it. If a nail or something goes through it, it actually will close up the hole if say a nail rots. It was primarily used up north along the bottom edge of the roof where you get the ice dams underneath.
Charlie:
You’re talking like Spring, Conroe….
Tom:
I’m talking about like more New Hampshire or Vermont, but it kept the ice from crawling up under there and destroying the roof deck. It’s used down here in a different way very well.
