Charlie:
Eric is buying a house and he says, he’s looking forward to putting everything he’s learned after listening to you for years. Just like the father son things earlier, now that he’s listener. He’s considering, and this is the thing that makes me wonder how carefully he was listening because he says, I’m considering a home warranty since the house was built back in the 80’s. Tom, why don’t you give him a little HomeShow Radio recap here on home warranties.
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom:
I don’t think any warranties worth buying, you know that, but we’ll get in that discussion another time. Warranties even on computers is kind of dumb. Oops, that goes Charlie his eyes just lit up, he doesn’t think so.
Charlie:
Home warranties is the topic here.
Tom:
Dave Ramsey will tell you no extended warranties. As far as a home goes though they’re not what people expect them to be so you’ve got to be careful enough not to buy any. That would be the best answer, is don’t do it. Just save your money, put a slush-fund away for a home. You know that Charlie, you’ve always got to have expenses once and awhile in a home.
Charlie:
NO!!!! Once you buy a house you’re done.
Tom:
Just make sure you have a little money for your home. Take care of it. At least it’s your money and not somebody else’s.
