Tom, Is it safe to use pigmented shellac paint in a garage if the gas water heater is in the garage?

First off, is it safe? Yes it’s safe. If you’re going to … If you have a gas/water heater in the garage, it’s supposed to be 18 inches off the floor. You have more dangers with things like gasoline stored in can that could spill, something like that because the flammable gas is close to the ground. As far as painting with it, yes. If you start covering yourself with it and see how close you get to a flame it’s probably not a good idea.

Charlie:
Stay away from the open flame, yeah.

Tom:
Yeah. The open flame part.

Charlie:
It’s hell of an idea.

Tom:
If you do it right it’ll be fine.
