AC Installation
Charlie: Let’s get to the questions, Tom. We’ve got one that came to us, here, from Martin, over in Southside Place. If you had an air conditioning problem that took 13 visits, and still didn’t work, what would you do, if they sent you a bill for $3600? Five times …
Tom: Laugh a lot.
Charlie: Five times, the condenser froze up. It was installed backward by one crew. The wiring was still wrong. It was leveled incorrectly, so it would drain, and they never provided any paperwork. It is not one of our trusted companies, as if I had to say that.
Tom: There’s a little bit of information, I think, that we’re probably missing in this. It’s the fact that they installed a new unit for the guy.
Charlie: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Tom: They did a lot of wrong stuff.
Charlie: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Tom: They came back until it was finally right.
Charlie: Right.
Tom: Then, they charged him for the initial installation. If that was the scenario, then you have to pay it. I’d still laugh a lot, and be a little frustrated. I wouldn’t hire those people back.
Charlie: Not sure I’d laugh, but okay.
Tom: Yeah.
Charlie: Okay. I hear what you’re saying.
Tom: If it working now, and that was the initial contract, you got to pay it.
Charlie: If they did what they said they’d do, you got to pay it.
Tom: They fixed it, they fixed it. Believe me, they didn’t make any money off it, but at least it pays for their equipment.
