Charlie: Would a whole house dehumidifier help the efficiency of the AC unit, and would it pay for itself?
Roger
Tom: Would it help it the efficiency? No. Would it pay for itself? No, it’s going to be always extra because you’re running something you shouldn’t have to run, so there’s no payback at all. You have to pay for it. Do you need it because your air conditioning system is not working properly? Maybe, but I would assume spend the money on fixing your air conditioner and making it a dehumidifier and air conditioner, for about 30 to 40 percent of it’s time, in the Houston area, acts more as a dehumidifier than as a cooler.
Charlie: The answer, Roger, is no.
