Podcast: Play in new window
Charlie: Dennis, in Kingwood says, I have a problem with noisy pipes, mine are knocking even when no water is running. All through the night the pipes knock on and off and I’ve drained pipes several times to restore air cushion with only limited success. Any ideas?
Tom: Yeah. Turn the toilets off at night. I don’t know how many toilets he has. Let’s back up a minute. If you have 3 toilets in your house, every night you go to bed, shut the valve off behind one of the toilets and when the knocking stops, you’ll know which toilet needs to have a new filler valve put in.
Charlie: So the problem is the toilet.
Tom: I think so.
Charlie: I think you flushed that one out.
