We have a 21 year old home with cast iron pipe in the slab.
We are having plumbing problems and the plumbing company ran a camera through the pipe in the slab. They say the cast iron pipe is corroded and leaking. Bottom line is that they want to dig under slab and run a new pvc pipe – approx. 60′. They say this will eliminate blockage and leaks. STICKER SHOCK! The cost is $21,000.00. Is this a fair price, and is there anything else I can do?
