I had a new roof installed 2 yrs ago from hail damage.
Took off whirly vents and had them install ridge vents.
I live in north Texas in a forested city. I hear rats falling from the rafters every night coming in through the opening in the ridge vents and bouncing off the ceiling sheetrock and insulation. I did not specify any rat-proof ridge vent at the time…my mistake. Is there such a thing as a rat proof ridge vent? If not, what options do you suggest? I have had the entire house gone over by a company called critter control to seal all external voids between the brick and trim boards. I am assuming that the ridge vents are plastic, not steel.
