Would you use the new Sharkbite shut-off valves? I have an old valve soldered to copper that is leaking. This is my line for the dishwasher so the water is hot. Do these new fittings actually seal and will it work with hot water?
Thanks,
Forrest
Tom: Oh, I know what he’s talking about. This is all I can say; it’s a new connection. What it does is it bites down, there’s no sweating or anything involved. Here’s what I’m going to tell you; I’ll let you know in 10 years.
Charlie: Stay right there.
Tom: No, I’m serious. Think about it. I know it’ll work for 10 years and I don’t know if this will. We’ll find out.
Charlie: You just said the bottom line is in the here and now you would not do it.
Tom: Part of the philosophy on this show, Charlie, is that I’m gonna look for the test of time and people can experiment with their money. I’m not going to experiment with mine nor would I experiment with the client’s. I know something that will work I’ll use it if it works.
