Charlie: Tammy from Rose Hill writes to us, “My son’s purchasing a brand new built home and wants to know how many inspections should he have before closing?”

Tom: Most of the inspections you have, if you want to have a third party in, would be before the slab is poured, before the walls are sheetrocked up, they’re still all open and the final one would be a punch-out where he would go through and check everything and just like you would have a home inspection done on a used home, have him go through and do the whole nine yards of checking every plug, making sure the hot’s on the left and the cold’s on the right. That’s the kinds of things they’re going to do is check everything.
