I have been shopping for electricity rates, thinking they would be lower at this time of year. They really don’t seem to be coming down. Since I am on a month-to-month so I could be looking for a good lock-in rate, I need to make a decision soon.
Should I now settle for a 3- or 6-month, hoping it will come down soon? I listen to you on 610-AM Sports Talk radio and know you have spent time researching this issue.
What is your best advice?
Linda
Tom: Yes, she’s paying an outrageous amount, so it’s got to be lower than what she’s paying.
Charlie: Should she settle for a 3 to 6 months, hoping it will come down soon?
Tom: I would tell you, I know you can lower it now and if she’s not finding a lower rate than she’s doing something wrong on the website. A 3 month would be great right now. You’re looking at January, February, March, and that way you can read up with a six month or more if you want to and get through the summer with still the lower rates being offered. Right now the rates aren’t going to go any lower. They’ve kind of bottomed out for the year because we’re in December, but they’re lower than anything you’re doing month-to-month.
