Charlie:
Lisa in Stafford says she has a question about replacement windows. She knows you recommend Gulf Coast Windows and all that, but she wants to know what makes their product better than the other companies.
Tom:
They have one of the better products on the market, which is the composite window, which is two and a half times more efficient than the vinyl windows, and we can go on and on, but the bottom line is this, with Gulf Coast Windows, it’s more than one window. They have a window for everybody. They can sit with you with your options, all the different finishes you can have, even right down to the color of the hardware. Don’t think that they only have one product and that’s it, they have many products and you can make it, mix it, match it, do all kinds of things.
Charlie:
The window just at the beginning of the the story because what really matters is how it’s installed.
Tom:
You have the factory-trained installers, they do it right, you have the best warranties around, but when I say they have different windows, for instance, if you need hurricane glass, different windows would have hurricane glass and didn’t say they’re composite window, which would be a more energy-efficient window. They do have a window for everybody.
Charlie:
The installation, come back to the installation again I’m going to is not all window companies put them in the same way.
Tom:
No. Unfortunately, we heard from him not too long ago that many of the window companies now are putting them on the sheetrock returns as opposed to making the windows fit the opening and cutting the returns back. If you really want to ask somebody, when you install these windows, are you going to cut my sheetrock returns back and fit the window to the framing? Even if you don’t know what that means, because they can only have so much time for you to explain it, if you just say that, and watch their eyes get real big and say, “No, you don’t have to do that,” tell them to leave.
