Charlie: Chuck, in the Galleria says, my house is 15 years old. I have single pane windows that have white plastic insets around each pane. Chuck, I have the same ones in my house, and they have started to breakdown from years of UV. This last hail storm punched holes in many and they need to be replaced. Any recommendations on who does this kind of work?
Tom: Any glass company can replace those. Those little inserts are what hold the glass in place. If your son throws a rock through your window, those inserts would be pulled out, thrown away, new glass put in. Then, they would put new inserts in, so they have the inserts of all the colors and all different sizes. There’s three or four different sizes, so any glass company can go fix those. If there is so many though, that it becomes for arduous and so time consuming, it can be rather expensive for those old windows.
Charlie: At some point, I would think it would be wiser just to do some window replacement there.
Tom: It becomes the point and that’s why Jim Fiume does so well at Gulf Coast Windows, because all those old windows with those inserts, they all have to eventually go.
