We just purchased a home built in 1930. It is raised on block and beam. How do we insulate under the house? I have read that using batts and dow board will trap moisture and lead to rot. What do you suggest?

Tom: Usually we use poultry wire. 2 inch poultry wire will be fine. You could do it smaller if you wanted to, but it gets expensive. The smaller the poultry wire, the more expensive it gets. It just holds it up and keeps the big critters from crawling up in there.
